History

Loar began as a bar and guest house and is now an emblematic inland hotel which has even given locals the popular name for the central square where it is located. Throughout its history going back more than fifty years, the establishment has been refurbished and adapted to the demands of its customers.

Our history

The history of Hotel & Apartaments Loar Ferreries 3 Estrelles began in the 1960s, when Desiderio Allès and Margarita Pons, a couple from the town, opened the OAR bar-salon which, over time, became known as Loar. In 1963 a first floor was built over the bar and fitted out as a hostel or guest house. In 1988, when Pepe, Nito, Deri and Jandro, the couple’s sons, joined the business together with their wives, they decided to build a restaurant and aparthotel next door. Thus, the old bar-salon became the first hotel, aparthotel and restaurant establishment in Ferreries. The original building was very distinctive and picturesque, but in 2006 it was completely rebuilt to offer its customers a larger and more modern bar and a comfortable three-storey hotel located in the very heart of the town, in Plaça Espanya, popularly known as Plaça de Loar.

Our hotel today

The hotel currently has spacious, modern and fully-equipped rooms with exterior views, including some adapted to guests with reduced mobility. It also has one-bedroom apartments and studio apartments which are ideal for people who are travelling in a group or as a family.

Loar Ferreries also has facilities designed for the comfort of its guests. It has a small heated pool on the ground floor which is ideal for use throughout the year, especially during the winter months. In addition, there is a pool, jacuzzi and solarium on the upper outdoor terrace, perfect for a quiet and relaxing time, where guests can bathe surrounded by stunning views of the town of Ferreries.
